NSTC 115th Year "Outstanding Young Scholars Program" Now Accepting Online Applications

The NSTC 115th Year "Outstanding Young Scholars Program" is now open for online applications. The relevant information is as follows:

1. Principal Investigators must thoroughly review the guidelines and regulations for the online application of research projects beforehand. Download link: https://www.nstc.gov.tw/.
2. The NSTC system at Yuntech will close on January 4th, 2026 (Monday) at 23:59. Applicants are requested to complete their online submissions before the deadline.
3. To avoid delays in project consolidation, approval, and university-wide submission, no online withdrawal or modification of submitted applications will be accepted on January 5th, 2026 (Thursday). Applicants are urged to complete their submissions early to prevent system congestion.
4. Faculty members uploading projects should ensure they select the 115th Year Outstanding Young Scholars Program.
5. Before submitting, faculty must verify the application batch number and confirm that the Principal Investigator meets the qualifications specified in Section 3, Item 1, Subitem 1, Clause 1(1); and that contract-based full-time teaching staff meet the qualifications in Section 3, Item 1, Clause 3. Contract-based full-time teaching staff should specify their full official titles (e.g., Project-Based Assistant Professor, Project-Based Lecturer) to avoid rejection.
6. When preparing the budget, faculty are advised to include research ethics review fees (approximately NT$20,000). If this is not budgeted and IRB review is required after NSTC evaluation, budget adjustments will be handled post-approval.
7. New faculty applying for rolling review projects must confirm with the Office of Research and Development contact person after uploading their application. Departmental liaisons should print the application roster from the NSTC system, have it stamped, and submit it to the Office of Research and Development.
8. All 115th Year research project applications must be submitted online. All forms must be generated via the NSTC website (https://www.nstc.gov.tw/) under "Login to Academic Research Service Network".
9. Important notes:
  (1) According to the NSTC guidelines for subsidized research projects, each project may apply for various funding items as needed.
  (2) Regarding research personnel expenses, the specific roles, nature, items, and scope of each category (level) of personnel involved in the project must be clearly described. In line with NSTC’s enhanced funding measures for doctoral student participation, if there is a need to hire doctoral students as part-time personnel, please include the additional budget accordingly to facilitate approval.
  (3) To uphold academic integrity, if the application involves theses supervised by the Principal Investigator, these must be clearly disclosed or cited in the application. The Principal Investigator should appropriately reveal completed work in the application and must not conceal any results already published (including student theses) as part of the proposed research content.

10. University Contact: Ms. Chang-Ju Lee, Extension: 2522.
