National Science and Technology Council's "Call for Proposals for the 115th Year General (Large-scale) Projects and Thematic-Oriented Research Programs in the Field of Spatial Information Technology"

The National Science and Technology Council hereby issues the following call for proposals for the 115th year general (large-scale) projects and thematic-oriented research programs in the field of Spatial Information Technology:


1. In addition to continuously encouraging free and innovative scientific exploration, the field of Spatial Information Technology aims to address multifaceted and complex societal issues by fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and aligning with international trends in spatial information research and development. This initiative seeks to strengthen Taiwan’s thematic research in spatial information technology. Accordingly, thematic-oriented research programs will be promoted in the 115th year to consolidate academic consensus and research directions, thereby maximizing the synergistic use of resources.


2. The key scientific topics for the 115th year in this field are as follows:


(1) Spatiotemporal Big Data and Geographic Artificial Intelligence (GEO-AI).


(2) Cross-domain Spatial Data Sharing and Collaboration.


(3) Integration and Enhancement Technologies for Observational Data from Next-generation Sensing Technologies.


3. Applicants may continue to submit free and innovative scientific exploration projects on topics of interest as in previous years’ large-scale projects, without restriction to the aforementioned thematic key scientific topics. Matters not covered in this announcement shall be governed by the NSTC’s Guidelines for Subsidized Research Projects, Principles for the Management of Subsidized Research Funds, Research Project Subsidy Contracts and Execution Agreements, as well as other relevant laws and regulations.
