The NSTC 116th Year "Practical Research Project Program for Technical and Vocational Colleges (Large Batch) Subsidy" is now open for online applications. The relevant information is as follows:

1. The NSTC system at Yuntech will be closed at 11:59 PM on January 18th, 2027 (Monday). Applicants are requested to complete their online submissions before the deadline.

2. To avoid delays in project consolidation, approval, and university-wide submission, no online withdrawal or modification of submitted applications will be accepted on January 19th, 2027 (Tuesday). Applicants are advised to submit early to prevent system congestion.

3. Teachers uploading projects should pay attention to the year (116) and the Practical Research Project Program for Technical and Vocational Colleges; new personnel research projects apply to teachers who have served in teaching positions domestically or abroad within the past five years.

4. Before submitting teacher projects, please verify the application batch number and whether the principal investigator meets the qualifications specified in Section 3, Item 1, Subitem 1, Clause 1(1); project-based teachers must meet the qualifications in Section 3, Item 1, Clause 3. Additionally, project-based teachers should specify their full appointed title (e.g., Project-Based Assistant Professor, Project-Based Lecturer) to avoid rejection.

5. When preparing the budget, teachers are advised to include research ethics review fees (approximately NT$20,000). If this is not budgeted and the NSTC requires IRB review, budget adjustments will be handled after project approval.

6. New teachers applying for rolling review projects must confirm with the Office of Research and Development contact person after uploading their projects. Departmental liaisons should print the application roster from the NSTC system, have it stamped, and submit it to the Office of Research and Development.

7. According to Article 6 of the NSTC Subsidy Guidelines for Research Projects, each project may apply for various funding items as needed. Regarding research personnel expenses, the specific roles, nature, items, and scope of each category (level) of personnel involved in the project must be clearly stated. In line with NSTC’s enhanced funding measures for doctoral students participating in projects, if there is a need to hire doctoral students as part-time personnel, please include the additional budget accordingly to facilitate approval.

8. To uphold academic integrity, if the application involves theses supervised by the principal investigator, these must be clearly disclosed or cited in the project proposal. The principal investigator should appropriately disclose completed work items in the proposal and must not conceal previously published results (including student theses) as part of the proposed research content.

9. All applications should be prepared via the NSTC website (https://www.nstc.gov.tw) under the "Academic Research Service Network."

10. This program aims to leverage the practical capabilities of technical and vocational colleges and private universities, fostering interdisciplinary team collaboration to assist industrial upgrading and social diversification, while cultivating practical talents in these institutions. 11. This program is classified as an NSTC "research project" and is included in the quota control of subsidized projects. Approved projects will be counted towards the principal investigator’s total number of ongoing projects; co-principal investigators are excluded from this count.
