We are looking for a Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) partner who would like to join our Lecturer in Applied Bioscience in the following project:
PROJECT DESCRIPTION/ OVERVIEW
Vaping has been a trending habit among youngsters in the colder parts of the world that is believed to be a lesser evil than cigarettes. There are ongoing studies that assess the health hazards of vaping worldwide.
Our project envisages a simple technique to measure the lung capacity using very simple things like a balloon, ruler, a clamp and a pencil. This is a very interesting and useful experiment where students can collaborate and assess their lung capacities themselves within a minute.
By the end of the project we would analyse the results and could give the students an outcome of their lung capacities and if there are any negative association of vaping and their lung capacities. The experiment has high social relevance and so would be much more impactful if we could ensure participation from students all over the world.

我們的專案設計了一種簡單的技術,用來測量肺活量,只需要一些非常簡單的工具,例如氣球、尺、一個夾子和一支鉛筆。這是一個非常有趣且實用的實驗,學生們可以彼此合作,在一分鐘內自行測量自己的肺活量。
在專案結束時,我們將分析實驗結果,並向學生提供他們的肺活量評估結果,以及是否存在電子煙與肺活量之間的負面關聯。這項實驗具有高度的社會關聯性,若能吸引來自世界各地的學生參與,將更具影響力。
