雲科大攜手AMD、群聯電子,共同培育AI應用型人才,推動生成式AI技術發展

    隨著AI人工智慧的迅速崛起,各行各業積極導入AI,各種生成式AI的應用應運而生。自2022年以來,全球進入生成式AI的爆發期,對於高效能運算平台的需求大幅增加。面對日益增長的算力需求,雲科大積極應對,與全球領先的半導體公司AMD及全球最大獨立NAND控制晶片暨儲存方案供應商群聯電子攜手合作,共同願景在雲科大設立「雲科大x AMD x群聯電子人才培育實驗室」,協助學校培育AI產業應用人才,推動臺灣AI產業生態鏈的發展。

    雲科大自2018年起積極投入AI技術研發與人才培育,設立多個專業領域的AI研究中心,包括以AI技術落地為主的「智慧辨識產業服務研究中心」(IRIS中心)、專注智慧電動車電控系統開發的「智慧電動車產業服務與人才培育中心」。其中由張傳育校長主持的IRIS中心,專注於推動產學合作,至今已為超過400家企業服務,創造近3億元的產學合作金額,近年來更協助企業開發多項生成式AI技術,包括工廠智慧助理、AI衛教對話機器人、以及工地缺失日誌等創新應用。為滿足生成式AI高算力需求,IRIS中心建立強大的AI算力平台,算力達1071.2 teraFLOPS,為AI模型訓練提供強大支援。

    有鑒於此需求,群聯電子攜手支持雲科大,將專案支持AITPC (AI Training PC),共同在雲科大設立「雲科大x AMDx群聯電子人才培育實驗室」,大力支援人才培育,為學生提供更強大的AI運算平台。這次專案支持的群聯AITPC (AI Training PC) 搭載AMD Ryzen™ 7 7700X處理器,並配備AMD Radeon™ RX 9070顯示卡,具備強大的AI加速能力。這款設備不僅支援AI運算與推論訓練,還具備強化版AI加速單元,適用於AI推論、影像辨識及即時運算等多種應用。

     群聯AITPC所採用的AMD Radeon™ RX 9070顯示卡基於RDNA 4架構,支援高效能AI運算,並且可進行輕量化LLM(大型語言模型)推理,滿足教育訓練與生成式AI研究的需求。這將為學生提供實際操作大型語言模型微調訓練的機會,並深入學習生成式AI技術,為他們的職業生涯打下堅實基礎。

    雲科大校長張傳育表示:生成式AI的迅速發展,正重新定義未來產業對人才的期待。學生不再只是學習AI理論,而是應朝成為具備訓練AI模型、解決實際問題的實作型人才。此次雲科大與AMD、群聯電子攜手合作,在雲科大成立『雲科大x AMD半導體x群聯電子人 才培育實驗室』,象徵產學界共同打造AI教育新標準的重要里程碑。我們特別感謝AMD專案支持技專校院,與群聯電子、華碩、智聯服務 (協助裝機) 共同投入,協助學生建構具實務應用能力的AI技能體系,讓每一位學生都能在教室中實際操作最新的生成式AI模型,提升未來就業競爭力。我們期待這座實驗室成為連結學界與產業的橋樑,讓學生走出教室就能走進職場,成為驅動臺灣AI產業前進的關鍵力量。

YunTech Collaborates with AMD and Phison to Develop AI Talent and Advance Generative AI Technologies

Yunlin, Taiwan – May 2025 – In response to the rapid rise of artificial intelligence and the growing demand for generative AI applications, National Yunlin University of Science and Technology (YunTech) has partnered with AMD, a global semiconductor leader, and Phison Electronics (8299TT), the world’s largest independent supplier of NAND controllers and storage solutions. Together, the three parties have established the “YunTech x AMD x Phison AI Talent Development Lab” on campus. This initiative aims to nurture AI application-focused talent and drive the development of Taiwan’s generative AI ecosystem.

 Since 2018, YunTech has been deeply involved in AI research and talent cultivation. It has established several AI research centers, such as the Intelligent Recognition Industry Service (IRIS) Center, which focuses on applied AI solutions, and the Smart Electric Vehicle Industry and Talent Development Center, which specializes in intelligent EV control systems. Under the leadership of President Chuan-Yu Chang, the IRIS Center has supported over 400 enterprises, generating nearly NT$300 million in industry-academia collaborations. In recent years, it has also assisted in the development of innovative generative AI applications, including smart factory assistants, AI-powered healthcare chatbots, and automated construction site logs.

 To support the increasing computational demands of generative AI, YunTech has built a high-performance AI computing platform boasting 1,071.2 teraFLOPS of processing power for training large-scale AI models.

 Recognizing this need, Phison has supported AITPC (AI Training PCs) to support the lab, and co-create an AI learning environment (YunTech x AMD x Phison AI Talent Lab) equipped with robust edge computing capabilities. Each Phison AITPC is powered by AMD Ryzen™ 7 7700X processor and AMD Radeon™ RX 9070 graphics card, offering enhanced AI acceleration capabilities for training, inference, and real-time image recognition tasks.

 Built on the RDNA 4 architecture, the AMD Radeon™ RX 9070 GPUs deliver high-performance AI computing capabilities and enables lightweight inference of large language models (LLMs). This empowers students to perform hands-on fine-tuning of LLMs and deepen their understanding of generative AI technologies—paving the way for successful careers in AI.
