雲科大訪韓簽署多項合作協議，深化AI研究與國際人才交流

國立雲林科技大學積極拓展國際學術影響力，於114年12月24日由校長張傳育率團赴韓國展開密集學術訪問。此次行程橫跨首爾與大田兩地，先後造訪韓國知名學府淑明女子大學（Sookmyung Women’s University）及亞洲頂尖理工學府韓國科學技術院（KAIST），並簽署多項學術合作備忘錄（MoU）與交換學生協議（SEA），象徵雲科大在人工智慧研究與國際人才交流方面邁向嶄新里程碑。

　　訪問首站為淑明女子大學，由校長 Moon Si-Yeun 親自接待。雙方就未來跨校合作進行深入交流與討論，並由張傳育校長與 Moon 校長共同簽署學術合作備忘錄及交換學生協議，正式建立姊妹校關係。隨後，訪問團前往 Prof. Byung Gyu Kim 所屬實驗室進行實務交流。張傳育校長同時身兼智慧辨識產業服務中心（IRIS）主任，代表中心與金教授簽署合作協議，進一步強化雙方在影像處理與人工智慧技術研發上的合作基礎。

　　張傳育校長表示：「淑明女子大學在韓國擁有悠久歷史與卓越的 AI 教育與研究實力。透過此次締結姊妹校關係，雲科大學生將有更多機會參與跨國學術交流，也誠摯歡迎淑明女子大學的學生來到雲科大，共同在智慧科技領域激盪創新火花。」

　　結束淑明女子大學行程後，訪問團隨即南下大田市，拜會韓國科學技術院（KAIST）之 Prof. Yong Man Ro 教授。在友好且熱絡的交流氛圍中，雲科大 IRIS 中心與 KAIST 之 IVY 實驗室（Image and Video Systems Lab）正式簽署合作協議。此項合作將整合雙方在智慧辨識與影像系統領域的研發優勢，推動未來於國際學術期刊發表及產學合作方面的深度交流。

　　張傳育校長指出，此次訪韓成果豐碩，不僅與韓國頂尖學府建立正式合作關係，也為未來在人工智慧、智慧辨識等前沿科技領域的深化合作奠定重要基礎。雲科大將持續推動國際化策略，為師生創造更多元的國際交流機會，全面提升學校整體競爭力。

　　國際事務處國際事務長葉惠菁亦強調，此次韓國訪問不僅是學術研究的結盟，更為雲科大學生鋪設與國際接軌的康莊大道。透過與淑明女子大學及 KAIST 的實質合作，校方將積極落實學生交換與研究交流計畫，提升學生的國際視野與研究能量，實踐雲科大「國際化、在地化、智慧化」的辦學願景。

National Yunlin University of Science and Technology Signs Multiple Cooperation Agreements in South Korea, Advancing AI Research and International Talent Exchange

National Yunlin University of Science and Technology (YunTech) is actively expanding its international academic influence. Led by President Chuan-Yu Chang, university delegation visited South Korea for an intensive academic tour spanning Seoul and Daejeon on December 24, 2025. The itinerary included visits to the renowned Sookmyung Women’s University and the Asia-leading Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), where multiple Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and Student Exchange Agreements (SEAs) were signed. These achievements mark a new milestone for YunTech in artificial intelligence research and international talent exchange.

The first stop of the visit was Sookmyung Women’s University, where the delegation was warmly received by President Si-Yeun Moon. The two institutions engaged in in-depth discussions on future cross-institutional collaboration. During the meeting, President Chang and President Moon jointly signed an academic cooperation MoU and a Student Exchange Agreement, formally establishing a partnership between the two universities. The delegation then visited the laboratory of Prof. Byung Gyu Kim for substantive academic exchange. In his capacity as Director of the Intelligent Recognition Industry Service Research Center (IRIS), President Chang represented YunTech in signing a separate collaboration agreement with Prof. Kim, further strengthening joint research and development in image processing and artificial intelligence technologies.

President Chang noted, “Sookmyung Women’s University has a long and distinguished history, as well as outstanding strengths in AI education and research in South Korea. Through this partnership, YunTech students will gain expanded opportunities for international academic exchange. We also warmly welcome students from Sookmyung Women’s University to study at YunTech, where we can jointly spark innovation in the field of intelligent technologies.”

Following the visit to Sookmyung Women’s University, the delegation traveled south to Daejeon to meet with Prof. Yong Man Ro at KAIST. In a cordial and constructive atmosphere, YunTech’s IRIS Center and KAIST’s Image and Video Systems Laboratory (IVY Lab) formally signed a cooperation agreement. This partnership integrates the complementary strengths of both institutions in intelligent recognition and imaging systems, and is expected to promote deeper collaboration in international journal publications and industry–academia partnerships.

President Chang emphasized that the visit yielded substantial outcomes. In addition to establishing formal cooperative ties with leading South Korean universities, the visit opened new avenues for in-depth collaboration in frontier technologies such as artificial intelligence and intelligent recognition. YunTech will continue to advance its internationalization strategy, creating more diverse global exchange opportunities for faculty and students, and further enhancing the university’s overall competitiveness.

Hui-Chin Yeh, Director of the International Affairs Office, highlighted that this visit represents more than an academic alliance; it serves as a gateway for YunTech students to connect with the global academic community. Through substantive partnerships with Sookmyung Women’s University and KAIST, the university will actively implement student exchange and research collaboration programs, broadening students’ international perspectives and strengthening their research capabilities, while advancing YunTech’s institutional vision of “internationalization, localization, and intelligentization.”
