Esteemed recipient, We are pleased to inform you about the application process for the graduate degree examination. Detailed information can be found in the "Degree Examination Application Process," "Thesis Format Sample and Related Regulations," "Graduate Degree Examination Application Operation Instructions," and relevant forms, which are available for download via the following path: Yuntech website/Administrative Units/Office of Academic Affairs/"Quick Links/Thesis Area for Masters and Doctoral Students" and "Form Downloads/22-1 Graduate Degree Examination Application." The website address is: https://aax.yuntech.edu.tw/index.php/ql-ct/student-paper. 1. Graduate students who meet the following requirements within the specified period are eligible to apply for the degree examination: (a) Master's students must have completed at least the second semester of study; doctoral students must have completed at least the fourth semester; those directly pursuing a doctoral degree should have completed one year of master's program and reached the fourth semester of the doctoral program. (b) Complete the required courses prescribed by the department (institute) and obtain the required credits. (c) Pass other assessment regulations required for the master's degree by the department (institute, college) / Qualifying examination for doctoral degree candidates. (d) Students who enrolled after the 2017 academic year must pass the "Academic Ethics Education" course provided by the Ministry of Education's Taiwan Academic Ethics Education Resource Center. (e) [Application for Delayed Public Disclosure and Supporting Documents]: According to the Ministry of Education's announcement on the "Thesis Quality Assurance Mechanism," eight measures state that theses should be publicly disclosed as a rule, with non-disclosure as an exception. Following the National Library's directive, theses are to be made publicly available by default, with delayed public disclosure only for reasons of "patent," "confidentiality," or "legal restrictions." Other reasons are no longer valid for delayed disclosure, and this has been in effect since September 2020. Applicants for delayed public disclosure (in print or electronic form) must attach "supporting documents" when applying for the degree examination and obtain approval from the department's exclusive meeting. The "Degree Examination Application Review Form" now includes an option for delayed public disclosure. If a student does not request "Delayed Public Disclosure of the Thesis" at the time of applying for the degree examination, they may not submit it later. The date of the meeting's approval must be written on the "Thesis Delayed Public Disclosure Application Form" submitted. The "Thesis Delayed Public Disclosure Application Form" file is located in the Office of Academic Affairs/Curriculum and Teaching Division/Thesis Format section, "Thesis Format." When uploading to the library and submitting the thesis to the Curriculum and Teaching Division counter, please attach the "application form" and "supporting documents." Applications without these will not be processed. According to Yuntech's Intellectual Property Rights Meeting, the supporting documents for non-disclosure are as follows: (1) Patent: Provide the application number. (2) Confidentiality: Provide legal basis for "confidentiality," supporting evidence, or confidentiality agreements. (3) Legal restrictions: Provide legal basis. The above is based on Yuntech's Academic Affairs Regulations "Degree Examination Regulations" and "Guidelines for Applying for Degree Examinations and Graduation Procedures." Graduate students who meet the requirements may apply for the degree examination. 2. The deadline for the degree examination procedures for graduate students in this semester (2023-2): (a) Application period: From the start of classes on February 19, 2024, to May 15, 2024. If departments have stricter regulations, those shall prevail. (b) Examination and submission of original grades deadline: Applications approved by July 31, 2024, 5:00 PM, must be completed, and the overall evaluation form and grading forms must be submitted to the Office of Academic Affairs' Curriculum and Teaching Division for record-keeping. (c) Deadline for online withdrawal of the degree examination: Until July 31, 2024. Students must apply for withdrawal online. If the withdrawal is not made within the deadline and the examination is not conducted, it will be considered a failure (according to Article 61 of Yuntech's Academic Regulations, the maximum score for a retake is 70 points and is limited to one attempt). (d) The "Examination Score Sheet Printing (Withdrawal)" interface is open for graduate students to amend their thesis titles until the submission of oral examination scores. Students must verify their titles, as once the scores are submitted and registered, the thesis titles in both Chinese and English cannot be changed. (e) Application form for changes in the graduate degree examination committee: Once students have confirmed their data and clicked on [Confirm Submission], the examination committee information cannot be changed. Please ensure the accuracy before executing the [Confirm Submission] action. If there are changes in the degree examination committee, please fill out the "Application Form for Changes in the Degree Examination Committee" at least three days before the examination, attach the original degree examination application form (copy or system interface data), and submit it to the Office of Academic Affairs' Curriculum and Teaching Division for data modification (if the data is still under departmental review and has not been submitted to the Curriculum and Teaching Division, please contact the departmental staff directly for changes). (f) Students who pass the degree examination and graduate this semester must follow the "Thesis Format Sample and Related Regulations" to complete the related thesis upload procedures and submit one copy of the thesis (revised final version) approved by the library to the Office of Academic Affairs' Curriculum and Teaching Division by the "Graduation Certificate Collection Deadline" set by the Registration Division (as designated by the Ministry of Education's Degree Conferral Act for display at the National Library). Note 1: The Curriculum and Teaching Division collects theses from graduating graduate students according to the Registration Division's calendar announcement from the "Start of Graduation Procedures" to the "Graduation Certificate Collection Deadline." Outside the aforementioned period for handling graduation procedures, please refer to the Registration Division/Form Downloads "Application Form for Early Graduation and Degree Certificate Collection" (accepted until the 15th week, and limited to the current semester without courses). For detailed information on leaving the school, please refer to the Registration Division's graduation announcement or contact the Registration Division at extension 2215. We wish you a successful degree examination. If you have any questions regarding the application, please contact your department. Thank you.
