The NSTC 115th Year "Advanced Silicon-Based Semiconductor Equipment Key Technology R&D Project" is now open for applications. The relevant information is as follows:
1. This project centers on process, packaging, and testing equipment. Through interdisciplinary collaboration and industry-academia-research partnerships, it aims to enhance system performance by targeting key technological advancements and integrating these innovations into equipment. Principal investigators must thoroughly review the project solicitation announcement (see attachment). Key application notes are summarized below:
(1) The primary research topics solicited under this project include: 1. Key components, modules, or subsystems of semiconductor front-end process equipment; 2. Advanced 3DIC packaging manufacturing and testing equipment; 3. Silicon-based semiconductor testing equipment.
(2) Interdisciplinary collaboration: Research teams must comprise scholars from diverse fields such as mechanical engineering, materials science, physical chemistry, electrical control, or information software.
(3) Industry-academia and academic-research cooperation: Collaboration with equipment manufacturers, chip production companies, packaging and testing firms, or legal entities is required. Partner organizations must provide machinery for project integration and outcome validation. Proposals should include a letter of intent from the cooperating enterprise.
2. This project mandates online application submission. All forms must be completed via the NSTC website (https://www.nstc.gov.tw) under the "Academic Research Service Network." When applying online, select "Project Category - Rolling Review Projects"; for project type, choose "General Strategic Project"; for project affiliation, select "Office of Engineering"; for research type, choose "Integrated Project"; and for discipline code, select "E9885 Semiconductor Equipment Key Technology R&D."
3. Principal and co-principal investigators must comply with NSTC’s regulations for subsidized research projects. Each principal investigator is limited to submitting one application for this project.
4. Appeals for projects not granted funding will not be accepted.
5. Yuntech will accept applications until Sunday, February 22nd, 2026.
