評選緣起
聯合國2015年宣布「2030永續發展議程(the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development)」 並通過17項永續發展目標 (Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs)，明確擘劃全球未來2016-2030年間之努力方向。過去 8 年多來，世界各地的組織已將SDGs 融入其內部文化中，採取創新性策略以實踐永續發展，並已有許多鼓舞人心的突破與成功案例，為充分展現台灣與亞太地區推動永續發展之豐沛活力，特舉辦「2024 第三屆亞太永續行動獎(Asia-Pacific Sustainability Action Awards, APSAA)及第四屆台灣永續行動獎(Taiwan Sustainability Action Awards, TSAA)，合併名稱為「2024 亞太暨台灣永續行動獎」（以下簡稱本獎） ，表揚各界在實踐聯合國 17 項永續發展目標工作上之卓越成果及貢獻，並結合第三屆亞太永續博覽會暨高峰會辦理頒獎典禮，將永續成果與國際社會交流。
亞太永續行動獎評選活動將分別頒發三大獎項類別，(1)鼓勵各界實踐SDGs之「亞太永續行動獎」、(2)鼓勵政府落實永續性之施政方案，成就永續城市之「宜居永續城市獎」、(3)表揚致力於推動企業邁向永續發展相關工作貢獻卓著、足堪典範之個人的「頂尖永續長獎」。
本年度頒獎典禮將結合亞太永續博覽會暨高峰會舉行，預計將有來自臺、日、韓及其他亞太國家之企業、大學、政府單位共襄盛舉、2023年有超過120個公、私部門暨單位策展，以及超過3萬觀展人次參與本活動，具有極高之國際及社會能見度。期盼透過此國際盛會，提供與會來賓瞭解國內外各界在SDGs、ESG、CSR、DEI及USR的績優表現及創新作為，藉此激發跨業結盟與開拓國內外市場的契機，驅動企業的創新能量和推升國際競爭力。

Origin of selection
The United Nations announced "the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development" in 2015 and adopted 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to clearly chart the direction of the world's future efforts from 2016 to 2030. Over the past eight years, organizations around the world have integrated the SDGs into their internal cultures and adopted innovative strategies to practice sustainable development. There have been many inspiring breakthroughs and success stories, fully demonstrating the promotion of sustainable development in Taiwan and the Asia-Pacific region. In order to maintain the vitality of sustainable development, the "2024 3rd Asia-Pacific Sustainability Action Awards (APSAA)" and the 4th Taiwan Sustainability Action Awards (TSAA) are specially organized. The combined name is " The 2024 Asia-Pacific and Taiwan Sustainability Action Award (hereinafter referred to as the Award) recognizes the outstanding achievements and contributions of all walks of life in implementing the United Nations’ 17 sustainable development goals. The award ceremony will be held in conjunction with the 3rd Asia-Pacific Sustainability Expo and Summit. , and exchange sustainable results with the international community.
