Funding Details:

Research funding for approved CORNET joint projects will be provided by the funding agencies of each participating member country according to their national regulations.

NSTC will evaluate the proposed work and determine funding based on project content and budget reasonableness.

Maximum NSTC funding: NT$2.5 million per year.

The funding items follow NSTC’s general research grant regulations.

International travel expenses (including research stays) are limited to use in the CORNET partner countries only.

Project start date: Tentatively July 1, 2026.

Duration: Up to 2 years, aligned with the timeline of the approved CORNET project.
Program Background:
Since 2021, Taiwan's NSTC has been a member of the CORNET platform led by Germany.
As of 2025, the CORNET network includes 15 funding agencies from 11 countries, aiming to promote Pre-competitive Collective Research and SME-market-oriented R&D.
A Project Consortium can be formed by industrial-academic research teams from at least two CORNET member countries. Each team must include:

A Research and Technology Organization (RTO)
-
An Industry Association
-
A SME user committee
These joint teams can apply for collaborative research through the CORNET platform.
Eligibility:

Taiwan Principal Investigator (PI):
-
Must meet NSTC’s qualifications for general research project PIs.

Must form a domestic team with:
-
An industry association, and
-
A SME user committee consisting of at least five Taiwanese SMEs, complying with CORNET guidelines.

Foreign Collaborators:
-
Must be academic-industrial research teams from CORNET member countries and meet CORNET application requirements.
